Everybodies Chiropractic | Why Patients Choose Us
Chiropractic can be compared to a three legged stool.  Each leg
of the stool symbolizes the importance of three pillars of the
chiropractic profession.  These are science, philosophy and art.
Chiropractic is the science of finding these areas of spinal
malfunction, the art of correcting them and the philosophy of all
things natural as we have been created.  All three legs carry the
same weight, giving equal importance into the strength of the
whole.  The trusted chiropractor will always focus on these three
legs as part of the larger plan of better health.
Chiropractic is based on the restoration of good health by
repairing and sustaining a properly functioning nervous system,
with no use of drugs or surgical treatments.  It is this complex
physiological and biochemical connection among various parts
of your body, including the spinal, musculoskeletal, neurological
and vascular systems, that chiropractors dedicate themselves to
exploring and treating.  With this in mind, we will now dive into
explaining to you how these three components of chiropractic
work together.
The Science.  The science is based on the relationship between the body's structure and function.  It is the study
of how the nervous system affects the body's system and organization.  Health is when each organ is functioning
properly, and is functioning in relation to the needs and wants of the rest of the body.
 (Dorland's Medical Dictionary)
Chiropractic is based on the scientific fact that the nervous system, brain and spinal cord controls the function of
every cell, tissue, organ and system of the body and relates the individual to his or her environment.  Nerves from
the spinal cord communicate with the nerves controlling the organs.  The interference to these tissues or organs
and the nerve control is called the
Vertebral Subluxation Complex.  Chiropractic is the science of finding these
subluxated areas in the spine and restoring their normal position and function.  Chiropractic is the only science
that works with the body's nervous system to get sick people well.
Chiropractic is a science!
The Art.  Chiropractors perfect the art of adjusting.  The art of adjusting does not come overnight.  It takes years of
practice and a day does not go by without practicing the art by the exercises that have been taught to master the
art of adjusting vertebrae.  The
“adjustment” can be performed using several different techniques, all of which
involve a controlled amount of pressure to the affected spinal segments to restore normal function and mobility to
that area of the body.  Chiropractors are trained to detect these issues and find healthy alternatives to the medical
approach of drugs and surgery.  In numerous ways, chiropractors’ hands read the spine just like a blind person
reading Braille.  The precision, speed and extreme specificity are the dominant ingredients of chiropractic
adjusting.
Chiropractic is truly an art!
The Philosophy.  Chiropractic philosophy identifies that the power that made the body can heal the body; as long
as there are no obstructions.  Chiropractic is centered on the power flowing through our nerve system.  This
power is labeled life force; or innate intelligence.  Much like wires carrying electricity, our nerve system transmits
life force to every cell, tissue and organ in our being.  Our nerve system is essentially the bridge that allows the
message to travel from our brain cells to our tissue cells which controls every function of our body.  The
Chiropractic Adjustment insures that the transmission of nerve impulse or life force is traveling through the
nerve system uninterrupted.  The fantastic thing is that this premise of the body’s innate intelligence holds true
whether you believe that a Creator designed us or whether you believe that evolution has perfected us to this
point.  Chiropractic does not have a philosophy.
Chiropractic is a philosophy!
“Chiropractic is a philosophy, science, and art
of things natural; a system of adjusting the segments
of the spinal column by hand only, for the correction
of the cause of dis-ease.”
